Tressie Brothers Reed

June 8, 1927 - August 1, 2018

Tressie Brothers Reed, 91, of North Little Rock and previously of Little Rock, flew peacefully on the wings of a dove to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. She was born on June 8, 1927 in Waltreak, Arkansas to the late Roxie James Brothers and Elmer Brothers. She retired from Teletype, now known as AT&T, as an electronics buyer after 35 years of service. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church.

As a devoted wife and loving mother, she made a choice each day to seek the beauty that was all around her. She was the ultimate hostess and even during the hardest of times, thought of the needs of other people. Her favorite activities included spending time with family, cooking, reading, and gardening.

She once said that some of her happiest memories were spent travelling around the state in a Winnebago with her husband and daughter as ''Foster Parents'' to the entire McClellan High School band. She will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit shown to all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Reed and multiple siblings, she is survived by her daughter, Barbara Reed Dimon, her husband, Chris Dimon, ''Bucky,'' her beloved Pug, and granddog Rocky. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Jamison, and two brothers, Charles and Bud Brothers.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Roller-Owens Funeral Home on 5509 J.F.K. in North Little Rock. Service is scheduled for Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Roller-Owens Funeral Home with entombment at Roselawn Cemetery immediately following the service.

Because she loved and treated dogs as members of the family, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Arkansas Paws in Prison, 6814 Princeton Pike, Pine Bluff, AR 71602.

The family of Mrs. Reed would like to thank her beloved caregiver, Mrs. Victoria Bell and the staff of Baptist Health Hospital-Springhill.

Barbara, so sorry to hear about the lost of your Mother. I worked with your dad John for many years at Hankins Container and MB.
Every time that I would speak to your mother, she was so kind and gracious. She made the best Fudge and was kind enough to share it with the office. I remember one time that she hosted a Sunday Hamburger and Snack time for a few of us at John and Tressie's house. We enjoyed that get-to-gather very much. I remember John played his country western music. You were blessed by having such loving and wonderful parents.

Dear Barbara and Chris,
I am so sad for your loss. It was tragic but I know that your mother would appreciate not having to suffer for long. She was such a kind and thoughtful person, always looking to make someone else comfortable. And such a great lady doing it in her quiet grace. I am sure that our merciful Lord welcomes her to His closer presence. Uncle John is delighted I am positive. That one thought, them together again makes this more bearable. Love and peace. We hold you in our hearts.
