Mr. Bernard John Willborn, 92 of Cotter, Arkansas passed away July 18, 2018 at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born on August 28, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Herbert and Ann (Rutkowski) Willborn.
Mr. Willborn was an Eagel Scout. In 1942 he enlisted in the Marines at the age of 17. He served in the Pacific Region during WWII in the 6th Marine Division as a Radioman. His last battle was the Island of Okinawa.
Mr. Willborn married June Gross on August 18, 1979. He retired from Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company with 30 years of service. In 1985 they moved to Cotter, Arkansas. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Life Member Club of the Telephone Pioneers and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
Mr. Willborn is survived by his wife, June of the home, three sons; Michael (Kathy), Gregory (Jeannie) Jeffrey (Carol) and three daughters; Carolyn, Lorraine (Terry) and Rosemary. Also surviving is host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces; Dawn (Brian) Peterson and family, Donna (John) Berman and family and nephew, Dale (Leisa) Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Leonard Stigall. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.
Visitation will be 6:00 8:00pm, Friday, August 3, 2018 at Roller Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at St. Peter the Fisherman Church with Father Norbert Rappold as celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Building Fund, First United Methodist Building Fund or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
