Reverend Prentice (P.O.) Harrington passed away peacefully on July 11, 2018. During his life of 105 years and 11 months his Christian ministry touched countless people. As a pastor and minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he pastored Baptist churches in Sand Springs, Republic, Enola, Flippin, Hardy, Lincoln, and Bono. He also served on the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Board for many years. He was born and lived in the Greenbrier area where he found and married the love of his life, Esther Cullum, in England, Arkansas. They were married on August 25, 1934, and she predeceased him in January 1, 2008.

After serving in the European War during WWII he returned to Arkansas where he and his beloved wife were blessed with five sons, Charles (Daphne), David (Tina), Parker, Bob, and Mark. His legacy is continued through eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. I LOVED my Uncle Prentice so very much & he loved me too!! When my Father, Russell Harrington, SR. , Prentice's younger brother was ill in Parkway Nursing Facility, he would have me call Prentice to talk with him & it was such a BLESSING listening to them chat over old times & talk about their lives and their health. You could feel the LOVE they had between them and it brought a smile & tears to my face! After my Father passed away 3 yrs ago, I remember Prentice coming to his service & he talked to my Mother with loving words. They were precious! Uncle Prentice always had a smile on his face & loved talking about stories from the past & ohhhhh how much he loved his brothers and sister! Now they are all in Heaven together & he is with his sweet wife Esther. I sure am going to miss you Uncle Prentice. I know you are enjoying your Heavenly reunion! You will live on in each of our hearts! Love, your Niece, Sharron (SUSIE) Harrington.
