Mrs. Edna Marie Rhodes, 84, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St.Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born September 4, 1933 in Hickory Ridge to William and Margie Davison Venable. She was a member of Magnolia Road Baptist Church, retired from Riceland Foods and was a former Pink Lady at St.Bernards. She was also a volunteer at St. Bernards Senior Center and actively helped with projects at church. Mrs. Rhodes spent her life caring for family and others.
Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil C. Rhodes; a son, Dennis Rhodes; a grandson, Jeremy Daniel Rhodes; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include one son, Virgil (Judy) Rhodes, Jr.; one daughter, Sharon (Earl) Blanchard; eight grandchildren, Andrea Hixon of Rogers, Arkansas, Shannan Rhodes of Wisconsin, April West of Jonesboro, Robin Whitenton of Bono, Travis Rhodes of California, Courtney Doucoure of Rogers, Arkansas, Venus Kato of Springdale, Arkansas and Dustin ''Dusty'' Rhodes of Brookland; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Willis Venable of Malvern and John Venable of Sikeston, Missouri; and one sister, Mary Venable Howe of Bono.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00am at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Dwain Borden and Emil Williams officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Dusty Rhodes, Travis Rhodes, Tim Hixon, Melvin McCoy, Charlie Emerson and Cotton Davis. Burial will be Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00pm.
