Garry "Butch" Ervin MorrisI am a Veteran.

of Everton, AR

June 20, 1948 - July 4, 2018

Garry ''Butch'' Ervin Morris, age 70, of Everton, Arkansas, passed away at his home Wednesday, July 4, 2018, with his family by his side. Butch was born June 20, 1948, in Oroville, California, the son of Ervin and Shirley (Harvey) Morris. Butch was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Lynn Hatler.

Butch had many passions in life. As a young man he met and married his wife Sharon in California. They were married in 1966, in Reno, Nevada. They weren't married long before he was called upon to fight in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army, where he was awarded several medals for his service. Butch was a member of the River of Life Assembly of God in Valley Springs, Arkansas. He had a calling and joined the ministry. Butch was also a truck driver. He and Sharon made many trips initially from the Sacramento valley to Portland and back. Later, they would transport cross-country and have many fond memories of being on the road together. Butch also loved motorcycling and belonged to several organizations in the Harrison area. But most of all, Butch loved his family and friends, and loved spending time with them and helping where he could.

Butch is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Morris, of Everton; his son, Garry Morris, Jr., of Morrilton, Arkansas; his daughters, Macy Morris and Shirley Morris, of Harrison; his mother, Shirley Evers, of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sisters, Kathy Starski and Dorraine Wood of California and Lee Van Beuzekam of Oregon; his brothers, Michael Morris and David Morris, of California; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was 10:00AM, Saturday, July 14, 2018, at River of Life Assembly of God Church at Valley Springs, Arkansas, officiated by Pastor Mike Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the River of Life Building Fund, P.O. Box 336, Valley Springs, Arkansas, 72682
