Thomas L. ''Nig'' Buford, 79, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home. Mr. Buford was born June 24, 1939 at Marianna, Arkansas to the late J.K. and Grace Clifton Buford. Mr. Buford was a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, worked as a gin operator for 25 years and worked in maintenance at the Helena Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Buford is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rita Martin Buford of West Helena; three sons, Michael Buford of West Helena, Adam ''Shrek'' Buford of West Helena and Tommy Buford of Earle, Arkansas; two daughters, Sandra Powers of West Memphis, Arkansas and Dena Tyson (Richard) of Marion, Arkansas; two grandchildren, John Thomas Buford and Hunter Buford; sister, Jo Belle Howard of Atoka, Tennessee; two brothers, Fred Buford (Barbara) of Marianna, Arkansas and Bud Buford of West Helena; three great-grandsons; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved pets Minnie, Dallas and Chevy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Donna Buford.
Funeral services for Thomas L. ''Nig'' Buford will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena.
Pallbearers are Adam Buford, Michael Buford, Mike Wages, Jeff Wages, Randy Wages and Hunter Buford. Honorary pallbearers are John Buford, Johnny Martin, Mack Martin, David Hill, Craig Carruth and Anthony Biggs.
Memorials may be made to Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, 1226 North 4th Street, West Helena, AR. 72390.

I heard the sad news at Joann's Beauty Shop where I went for a hair cut on my way out of town and Fred Buford was in the chair, getting a haircut. I am so sorry for your loss. Nig was such a good man. A family man who loved the Lord, and loved YOU and the kids unconditionally. Y'all will be in my thoughts and prayers.
