Winnie Faye Williams

of Fairfield Bay, AR

August 1, 1924 - May 11, 2018

Winnie Faye Williams, 93, of Clinton, Arkansas died May 11, 2018. She was born August 1, 1924 on Culpepper Mountain to parents Eugene and Birdia Story.

Winnie was preceded in death by her brothers, France, Tom, Elmo, Virgil (Eldo), Jim (Omer), Warren G.; sisters, Minnie Moore, Jewel Thompson, Avon Crawford, and her husband of 65 years and the love of her life, Billy Rex Williams. She was a member of Formosa Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children; Roxie Williams, Bruce (Jeannie) Williams, Bridgett (Doug) Jones, Brett (Joyce) Williams, and grandchildren Caleb Huggins, Tori Huggins, Danielle Williams, Stephen Williams, Reatta (Levi) Walker, Tyler Williams, Chloe (Bailey) Bass, Dylan Jones, great grandson Asher Walker, many nephews, nieces, and other family.

Winnie traveled to California right out of high school to look for work. World War II was raging during this time and the U.S. Navy had a great need for war ships, so Winnie supported the war effort by going to work at the Vallejo shipyard where she welded and joined the ranks of ''Rosie the Riveters.'' After the war, she enrolled in beauty school in Vallejo and received her cosmetology license. Bill and Winnie were married January 22, 1947.

She was very close to her sisters and with six brothers, she learned to fight and dance. Winnie and brother, Omer, won 1st Place in the Jitterbug contest at an alumni gathering. She was a gracious hostess, welcoming family and friends at any time. She was a patient mother, but her children were no strangers to a dose of hickory tea. She was quick-witted, laughed often and had a big, beautiful smile.

Visitation will be 6pm - 8pm Wednesday, May 16, 2018 and the funeral will be 11am Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Interment will follow at Culpepper Cemetery

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4 “With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have

Roxie, Bruce, Bridgett, & Brett, I am sorry for your loss. Winne and Bill were dear neighbors and I loved those two, we had lots of good laughs. Bill taught my kids how to load bails of hay and Winne cut their hair. Winne was a warm and kind soul!

Prayers for you all.
