Mildred Henrietta Hale Whitaker Russo, age 85 of Marshall, Arkansas was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on February 26, 1933 to Clinton Cunningham Hale and Thelma Leona Gulley Hale. She left this earthly world on April 9, 2018 at Highland Court in Marshall and was welcomed to her new home by her savior, Jesus Christ.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton Hale and Thelma Hanscomb, brother, Norman Douglas Hale, sister, Wilma Hale Adams and son James Russell Whitaker II.

Mildred accepted Christ at an early age and enjoyed singing in her gospel church group with her husband and friends. They played at area nursing facilities, churches and other locations in and around Clarksville. She enjoyed going to church and spoke openly of her faith. Upon residing at Highland Court, Mildred quickly made friends with residents and staff alike, sharing her quick wit and friendly personality. While at Highland Court, she entered her first ever beauty pageant and won 1st place in the area nursing home district contest! She was beaming from ear to ear and proudly showing off her huge trophy. Her presence will be missed by her Clarksville friends, St. Joe/Marshall friends & family, Ohio family and Florida friends & family.

I am deeply sorry for your families loss. I have personally found comfort in the scriptures such as the one at Revelation 21:4 where we learn that soon suffering, pain and death will be no more. Again, I express my sympathies and hope you find comfort in this message.
