Clarence Edward ''Dave'' Davis, 82, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Clarence was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on December 15, 1935 to Jessie N. and Mahalia Jackson Davis. At the age of 18, Dave joined the Navy and was attached to the U.S. Marine as a Corpsman where he served for 22 years. Upon retirement from the Navy in 1972, he fulfilled his promise to Mary to settle in Arkansas where they have lived happily for 46 years. Clarence joined the staff of St. Jude Hospital as employee #200 where he served for 29 years. Clarence then went to serve the City of West Memphis as a dedicated councilman for four years and then on the West Memphis Airport Commission until recently when he became too ill to continue. He was a member of the Missouri Street Church of Christ.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, M. D. Davis; a granddaughter, Jennifer Ross; grandson, Joshua Waddel and his beloved mother-in-law, Carmen Davis.
He is survived by loving wife of 61 years, Mary K. Davis; two daughters, Robin Smith and Cheri Waddel; a son Kevin Scott Davis and his beloved daughter in-law (Sharon); two grandsons, Robert Smith (Meagen) and Tyler Davis; one granddaughter, Taylor Davis Meadows; eight great-grandchildren including Patience Ross of the home.
A Celebration of Dave's life will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Lyndal Dale Officiating.
The family wishes to thank Arkansas Home Hospice for the exceptional Care given to Dave.
Memorials should be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his memory since he cared deeply for the Hospital's mission.

I will miss Mr Davis. He was a kind and generous man. I kmow he is with the lord and no longer suffering. God bless all of you.
