January 15, 2018

Susan ''Ms. Sue'' Chasteen passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at her home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Susan was born on March 24, 1948 in Oglesby, Illinois to the late Euel and Hazel (Long) Chasteen. Sue lived in California where she was a pre-school teacher for some time and worked at an eye glass manufacturing company. In 2005 Sue moved to Mountain View, Arkansas and worked in the deli at Wal-Mart for a few years. In 2007 Sue started working at SCAP for a few years; she left and then came back and was on the board in 2014. In 2016 she resigned from the board and became a volunteer for SCAP. In 2017 she entered into the NCBA program which paid her to be a volunteer for SCAP which she did until days before she passed away.

Sue went to Broadview Academy in Illinois; she was continuing her education here in Mountain View at Ozarka College for the past three years.

Sue did not have any known family except for all of us at Stone County Abuse Prevention and a small amount of friends who will miss her greatly. Her friends are Dorrie Holt, Ashleigh McCloud, Misty Neuman, Jennifer Carmichael, Linda Nettles, Virginia Wright, Sondra Holliday, Sarah Everett, Sandra Stevens, Kimberley Dalley, all the faculty and classmates at Ozarka College as well as many other friends she made after moving to Mountain View.

Sue was a very kind person, she was not a selfish person, she would give you the shirt off her back. Sue was an inspirational person, a peacemaker of sorts. She was a hard worker and great advocate for Stone County Abuse Prevention. She will be dearly missed.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Abundant Life Church in Mountain View, Arkansas at 1:00 PM.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4
(3) "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. (4)
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

Sue, your spirit will be with those of us who knew you. I will always remember how you sought knowledge about your world, and in doing so made it a little more clear to the rest of us. I know that now that the Goddess holds your soul next to Her heart, your spirit will find the answers you have been seeking.

Lois and I were so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Reading Rev. 21:3, 4 and John 5:25 have always brought me comfort, and hopefully will do the same for you.
