Maudie Thomas, 96, longtime resident of Clinton shed the pains of this world to join the love of her life in Heaven on December 27, 2017. Maudie was a kind and selfless woman whose family was her one and only priority. She was born December 25, 1921 in her family home in Hulbert, Oklahoma to the late William and Delphia Napier. She married her one true love Weldon Thomas on Sept 5, 1943 while on a road trip delivering new cars with Weldon and two friends. They stopped in Vegas for the occasion and went on their merry way... remaining so until his death on Aug 19, 1993.

Maudie loved music, art and gardening. She taught herself piano and guitar, and spent many a spring morning planting flowers in her garden and a dreary winter day painting birds, flowers and her beloved 'happy little trees.' Best described by friends and family who loved her as ''feisty,'' her strength and independent streak kept her healthy and active into her 90's. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Maudie is preceded in death by her parents, one infant son Morgan Thomas, two sisters; Bonnie Stewart and Della Couch,and six brothers; Lawrence, Leon and Elmer, Roy, Lonzo and Herbert Napier.

Survivors include her son Weldon Thomas Jr. of Leslie, Arkansas and one daughter Dawn Burris of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.,five grandchildren; Kristin Middlebrook, Jason Thomas, Jessica Johnson, April Burris, and Michael Thomas, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one sister Oma Standridge of Scotland, Arkansas as well as several nieces and nephews and other friends that will miss her dearly.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 29, from 6-8pm with funeral service at 12:00pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
