Danny Murel Gibbs of Landmark and Ico communities Arkansas, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Hospice Homecare on Bowman Road as a result of Parkinson complications, after a two-month illness.

Danny was born to Ava Schultz Gibbs and Erman Gibbs, January 25, 1944 in Conway. He is survived by his only sibling, Sharon Bone. He grew up in the Holland community, moved into Conway with his family in his teen years, graduated there and attended Central Baptist College, then married Charlotte Bennett June 12th, 1965.

He began a lifelong career in sales, first at Otasco, and then with Montgomery Ward, about which he would say ''He opened the store and closed it with his retirement''. His love of people brought him much success in his work. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Danny was a Christian, baptized at age 13, at Holland Baptist Church. Then he became an active member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on Arch Street. He loved to sing in his quartet and choir; he was a Mason; he loved to be busy as a handyman; loved fishing and the outdoors, traveling was a hobby, and reminiscing about the past. He adored his grandkids and having them come visit. He loved to brag about them to all who would listen. He loved his family, spending time watching Razorback games and having family meals.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and step father, Leroy Hazel. He is survived by his wife; his sister; a daughter, Amy (Dean) Dancer, and her children, Garrett and Sarah-Catherine Reed; a son, Christopher (Julie) Gibbs, and his daughters; Claire, Caroline, and Savvy; other surviving relatives are his brother-in-law, Don Bone; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Lindsey) Tipton, Brenda (Danny) McGinley, Sheila (Otto) Schmeckenbecker, and Judy (Jimmy) Morton. Other immediate beloved family members include, Marty, Kristi, Kelsey, Stephanie, Scarlett, Shannon, Michael, John Mark, Sarah, Jason, Arty, Paul, Jennifer and Russell.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at John 5:28,29
(28). "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (29) and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment".

I would like to offer my condolences for your loss. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that Jehovah, the God of all comfort, will soon eliminate all grief and provide permanent consolation when “all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Christ’s] voice and come out”! (John 5:28, 29) God promises that “he will do away with death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” (Isa. 25:8) Then, instead of having to “weep with those who weep,” all earth’s inhabitants will “rejoice with those who rejoice.”—Rom. 12:15.

To Chris & family,
So sorry to hear about Danny. Only found out via newspaper. Had no idea he was in that severe condition. I have known him since 1960 in Conway. Always seemed very pleasant person. Would have attended funeral if I had known.
So sorry.

What a wonderful man, who will be truly missed. His kindness and love to Kelsey was a blessing to her life.

I will never forget when my grandfather (CA Maddox) was showing off Kelsey's picture to the salesman at Montgomery Wards (Danny) only to find out he too would be her grandfather. What a great conversation they had sharing stories.

May God bless you and your family. Heaven gained a wonderful angel!

Danny was my first father-in-law and treated me like a son in every way. I loved Danny like a father. He taught me skills that I have used so many times throughout my life. I am heartbroken at this loss, but know he is at peace as he was truly a man of God. I am forever greatful for what Danny Gibbs did for me and will miss him dearly. My heart goes out to all of the family. You are all in my prayers.

So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4
(3) "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. (4)
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".
