Dear Betty, You have been in my thoughts and prayers all week. Your mother was so sweet, and I have such wonderful memories of childhood with you and your mom...us traveling to Dallas to shop, spending the night at each other's houses, Forest Park, Forest Heights...and even of late from time to time, I have seen your dear mother at the neighborhood grocery store. I don't know the series of events that caused her and Mike's deaths, but I am saddened and have had you in my thoughts all week. Take each day at a time. Know that people love you and loved your mother and brother. Fondly, Katherine Bullard Melhorn

Dorothy was special to my daughter, Zoe, and Haley's other friend, Landrey. She put up with them in her home and took them places when she could. I always enjoyed her spirited personality. We will miss her.

I worked with Dorothy at the Arkansas Gazette for 20 years. She was a very special person. I admired her for the many things she did for her family. I last spoke with her when she needed an article from the newspaper for Haley. She said she and Haley would be right down to pick it up. There she was at 88 years young still going strong!! My sympathy to the entire family.

Dear Family, I have had the pleasure of knowing Dorothy for many years. Together we shared a common bond, which is Haley. I am thankful for Dorothy always being there for Haley. I am honored to have known such a wonderful lady. Dorothy’s influence with Haley will continue to flourish as Haley matures into the fine young woman that is within. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy, and prayers for comfort while sharing with you in your time of sorrow.

Ms. Dorothy was loved by all at the American Cancer Soceity where I worked for many years. We could always rely on her to help out with administrative duties. We thought of her as our special "grandmother" - she will be greatly missed.
