Anna Lou Bryan Weathers

of Batesvile, AR

November 5, 1928 - October 5, 2017

Anna Lou Bryan Weathers, 88, of Batesville, Arkansas died Thursday, October 5, 2017.

She was born November 5, 1928, to Anna May and Earl Bryan near Couch, Missouri.

Anna Lou graduated from Couch High School, attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, Missouri and Arkansas State at Jonesboro, Arkansas. She taught school, was a bookkeeper, insurance agent, and worked for USDA. She retired as a loan specialist with Farmers Home Administration.

She was an avid reader and loved to discuss and share her books. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Batesville for many years. Anna Lou loved her church and was very active until her health kept her home bound. Even then, she still was contacted weekly and knew her church remembered her.

Anna Lou and J. L. ''Jay'' Weathers were married November 7, 1947, in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. They were not blessed with children, but were doubly blessed with their nieces and nephews who were always attentive.

She is survived by the children of her only sister, Mary Alice Wisehart: Barbara Johnson of Conway, Arkansas, Eleanor Carroll of Farmington, Arkansas and Donna Forrest and her husband Terry of Ashland City, Tennessee; and a brother, Jim Bryan of Cherokee Village, Arkansas. She is also survived by Sondra Morgan, Ramona Beard, Denise Montgomery, Kay Rather and nephew Bruce Bryan, as well as, nieces and nephews of the Weathers family, whom she loved very much: Jim Weathers and wife Dean, Jimmie Sue Enchelmayer and husband, Guy, Kevin Weathers, Shanda and David Weathers, Karen Plumlee and husband Dwayne, Yvonne Webber and husband Mike, Ollie Lou Land and husband Ted and Jo Cheek.

Anna Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J.L. Weathers, her parents; sister, Mary Alice Wisehart; brothers, Homer Bryan and Robert Bryan; and a very special nephew, Grady Earl Bryan.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday October 9, 2017, at Roller-Crouch Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Terry Forrest and Bro. Stacy Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Salem Arkansas, under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Pallbearers are Kevin Carroll, Bryan Johnson, Bruce Bryan, Jim Weathers, Dwayne Plumlee and Mike Webber. An honorary pallbearer is Kevin Weathers.

We loved Boo, but know that she is now with her beloved Jay in Heaven. May her family find peace in knowing she was a good friend to all and loved by everyone who knew her.

I am so sorry to learn about Anna Lou. She and Jay were our dear friends while in Walnut Ridge. Since moving to Central Arkansas I had not kept contact with them. Nonetheless, I treasure knowing her with her smiling face, wit, and charm. My prayers are with all who are now mourning our loss.

Ms Anna Lou was a great lady that I got to know at First
Baptist Church. She cared about people, her family and
our church.
I wanted to be at the funeral this morning but leaving
town for WRAAA.
Ms Ann Lou you will be missed but you are in good hands!
God Bless

I'm so sorry to hear of Anna’s passing. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I lost my dad in 2010, and my mom in 2012. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I hope reading these verses also give you comfort during this difficult time. GW

Ever since I was a small child, I couldn't wait to visit Annalou and Jay. After I was able to drive, I visited them every Sunday. Boo and Jays house met the definition of cozy and content. Anna Lou had an unshakable spirit and was the best mentor I've ever had. I know that there is a Branson in heaven where Boo has joined the rest of the family. I picked this scripture for her as I'll miss her dearly. From Matthew 11:28" Jesus said, come to me, and all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest and contentment".
