September 21, 1947 - September 23, 2017

Mary Ellen ''Marilyn'' Hughes, age 70, of Omaha, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 23, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 21, 1947, in Black Hawk, Mississippi, the daughter of Julius K. and Mary V. (Farrish) Acy. Mary Ellen ''Marilyn's'' heavenly reunion included her parents, Julius K. Acy and Mary V. Creel.

Mary Ellen ''Marilyn'' is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clifton Hughes; her sons and daughters-in-laws, Timothy and Amanda Cochran and Troy and Stacy Cochran; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie and Jeff Welborn, Wanda and Winston Street, Vedia Warr and Rachel and Allen Schoen; her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Bonnie Koursh; four grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.


Funeral service was Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Greenwood, Mississippi, with Bro. Dennis Sullivan officiating. Visitation is was Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Interment was in Mount Olive Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Troy Cochran, Barry Acy, Raymond Acy, Walter Compton, C. D. Farrish, L. Z. ''Jr.'' Farrish and Donald Miller.
