Monteen Walls Goss

of Conway, AR

April 9, 1938 - September 17, 2017

Monteen Walls Goss, 79, of Conway died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born April 9, 1938 in Quitman, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Sally Davis Walls.

Monteen worked at Tiffany Stand in Conway until it closed. She then went to work at Carrier in Maumelle. Later Monteen worked for the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Officer where she retired. Not one to be idle she went back to work as a pharmacy technician at Wal-Mart in Conway. When she quit Wal-Mart her last years were spent caring for her family, her chickens, flowers and garden. She loved visiting with family and friends, going out to eat and going to yard sales and flea markets.

For many years she worked closely with her husband on Circle G Rodeo Company where she was known as Momma Goss and Boss Lady. She took many a young cowboy and cowgirl under her wings. Her arms were always open to those who needed her. She was of the Baptist faith.

Beside her parents Monteen was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Teddy Goss, a brother J.C. Walls and a sister Fern Brown. She is survived by five sons: Joe Goss of Conway, Dickey Goss of Nowata, Oklahoma, Bobby and Wayne Goss of Conway and Teddy Jr. Goss of Bigelow. Nine grandchildren: Paula Paxton, Shane Goss, Dusty Goss, Landon Goss, Bobbie Diane Goss, Audrey Goss, Sawyer Goss, Grady Duvall, and Emily Goss, eleven great grandchildren, a brother Nelson Walls of Beebe and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the funeral home.

Monteen, what can I say you already know how I feel because you and I always basically knew each other's minds, our thoughts our feelings our emotions. We had a long long talk about 2 weeks before God called you Home and going Home was one thing we talked about you told me you was really tired and that you was ready. After we hung the phone up I started to call you back and say every which one of us goes first be sure and watch for the other. I didn"'t call because you was tired. I love you so much and miss that part of me but you are there so watch and wait for me Sister because I will be there and I will sure be looking for you.
Love you and will see you then. Til then
To all you boys and family I love you all and you know that I am here for you. I pray God wraps His arms around each one of you holds you and comforts you. God bless. Love you all.

I'm so sorry to hear of Monteen’s passing. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I lost my dad in 2010, and my mom in 2012. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I hope reading these verses also give you comfort during this difficult time. GW

Hey guys, I am so sorry about your Mom. I came to the hospital
last Tuesday but no one was there so they wouldn't let me go
back to see her. Remembering back in our Rodeo days...if Rodeo
Arena's could talk there would be some crazy stories!! I can just
hear her getting after Teddy, you guys and some of the cowboys
trying to keep everyone in line. She was a feisty woman but she
had to be since she had 5 boys to handle!! I will miss her...
Also, just wanted to let you know that I will not be able to come to the visitation and funeral... I will be out of town... I
really hate it and am so sorry.... All of you and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.... Love y'all...

I loved this woman. She was like another mother to me. I am saddened that she is gone from this earth, but rejoicing that she is in the arms of our sweet Lord Jesus. My life has been "blessed" by knowing her for so many years and I will miss seeing her from time to time. My deepest sympathy for her family and prayers for comfort during the lonely, difficult days ahead. Rest easy my sweet friend.

Monteen was a very dear friend of mine when we were in High school. But after we both got married we went our separate ways. Several years later we got back in touch with each other and reunited our friendship again. I talked her in coming to our 60th class reunion and we had a great visit there. I am so sorry of the loss of a very dear friend. May God wrap his arms around the family and give them peace during this difficult time.

Monteen was loved by many people outside her immediate family. She was definitely one of kind...she could scold a cowboy to almost tears, turn around the next moment, & give him a big hug or kiss. She liked to laugh and play but knew hard work too.

Prayers for comfort & strength, I send to the family and may God remind each of you the love she had for you.

Until we meet again Monteen, I will remember your love for your family, and how strong woman you were.
