of Greenbrier, AR

November 4, 1927 - September 12, 2017

Wilma N. Hammett, 89, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 12, 2017. She was born November 4, 1927 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to the Late ''Shorty'' and Hollon (Castle) Cathey. Wilma graduated at the top of her class from the Saint Bernard School of Nursing in Jonesboro as a Registered Nurse.

Following graduation Wilma fulfilled her Nurse Corp work at the VA hospitals in Memphis and Houston. She served Arkansas State Teachers College as the infirmary nurse in student housing. Wilma also worked in the hospitals of White, Faulkner, and Clark counties as well as the county public health nurse. She also served as the Cervical Cancer Specialist for the state of Arkansas.

Wilma is survived by her three daughters, Lynn Bush (Paul), Kay Colclasure (Ronnie) both of Greenbrier, and Tami Wood (David) of Conway, six grandchildren: Corey (Leah), Laure (Aaron), Casey, Ronnie (Lauren), Tiffany
(Brian), and Courtney (Matthew); twelve great grandchildren: Morgan, Meghan, Payton, Colin, Griffin, Ella Grace, Madi, Cash, Ava, Camilla, Tyler and Kyan; and brother Buddy Cathey (Georgia Mae) of Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, James Cathey, Step-father, Earl Hobbs, sisters, Colleen Shouse and Lucy Walbrecht, and son, Tim Hammett.

Wilma was a member of Mt Olive Baptist church in Greenbrier. She enjoyed reading, quilting completing puzzles and most important of all spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, & great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Friday September 15, 2017 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
