January 18, 1941 - September 9, 2017

Carole Helm Culp died on Saturday, September 9, 2017, of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Wideman, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the Late Ethel Dalrymple Helm and E. Baxter Helm.

Mrs. Culp graduated from high school at Calico Rock. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She later earned a Ph.D. at the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Women's University, Denton, Texas.

Mrs. Culp worked for two years for Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service before her sons were born. She returned to the workplace when they began college. She was an Associate Professor at the College of Pure and Applied Sciences at the University of Louisiana, Monroe for sixteen years.

Survivors are her husband, Harold Culp of Little Rock, two sons; Nathan Culp of Little Rock and Gary Culp of Grand Prairie, Texas, one grandchild; Esme Culp of Grand Prairie, Texas, one brother; James Helm and his wife Judith of Athens, Georgia, two sisters; Brenda Helm of Lowell, Arkansas, and Betty Palmer and her husband, Dr. Bryan Palmer of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Other survivors include four nephews, one niece, and several great-nieces and nephews, an aunt and uncle, and cousins plus several Culp relatives.

Mrs. Culp will be buried at the Wideman Cemetery in the Community where she spent her childhood.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Wideman Cemetery, Izard County, Wideman, Arkansas. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas. 501-224-8300.

Memorials may be made to Wideman One-Room School Renovation, C/O B.Y, Helm, 911 W. Monroe Ave, Lowell, Arkansas 72745, a project that Mrs. Culp was working on before her death.

I am very sorry to learn of Carole's death. She was a very
lovely girl in high school. I was fortunate to see her at a
school reunion a few years ago. You are in my thoughts
