John E. Meimerstorf, 91, of London, AR passed from this life September 6, 2017 in Russellville. He was born November 9, 1925 in Augsburg, AR to his parents Henry A. and Margaret (Clements) Meimerstorf. John was a retired military veteran. He served his country World War II as a member of the United States Marine Corp, before transferring to the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars. John loved to raise cattle on his farm and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Russellville. He loved to spend his free time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, playing golf or just spending time talking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. and Margaret (Clements) Meimerstorf; two sisters, Rosie Smith and Katherine Nordin; three brothers, Robert, Kenny Wayne, and Henry Meimerstorf; one granddaughter, Christie Michelle Petersen.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Geneva (Blewett) Meimerstorf; one son, Johnny L. Meimerstorf and wife, Bonnie of London, AR; two daughters, Michelle Wakefield and husband, Tom of Tulsa, OK; Katy Petersen and husband, Robert of London, AR; one brother, Harold Meimerstorf of Grandview, MA, one sister, Bernice Higby of Lamar, AR; six grandchildren, Amanda Pearrow, Kimberly Petersen, Sarah Lawson, Eric Meimerstorf, Garrett Wakefield and Kacie Wakefield; five great-grandchildren, Zoee Lawson, Zayden Lawson, Brooklynn Meimerstorf, Hayden Meimerstorf and Gauge Pearrow; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the Bible Baptist Church in Russellville, AR., with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00P.M. Pallbearer will be Garrett Wakefield, Eric Meimerstorf, Cory Lawson, Mark Smith, Caleb Smith and Chase Pearrow.
