of Conway, AR
February 7, 1977 - August 20, 2017
Jason Robert Baker, 40, of Conway, went to be with his Lord, on Sunday, August 20, 2017. He was born Monday, February 7, 1977 in Conway, Arkansas to James Robert Baker and Linda Kay Nelson Baker.
Jason graduated from Conway High School in 1995 and then attended George Mason University for two years, leaving to follow his passion of working in politics. He worked on the campaigns of President Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Edwards, John Kerry, General Wesley Clark, and Governor Mike Beebe as an Advanced Press Consultant. His greatest campaign was helping elect his father county judge of Faulkner County. Jason grew up in the First Baptist Church of Conway. He loved water skiing, snow skiing and watching the Razorbacks. He lived his life to the fullest for all of us to see. Jason was laid back and he never met a stranger. He always had a smile on his face.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert H. and Charlene Herring Baker and maternal grandparents, Dale M. and Naomi Davis Nelson.
Jason leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Jim and Linda Baker of Conway; sister, Monica Kay Baker of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017, 6:00-8:00PM at First Baptist Church in Conway. Funeral service will be 10:00AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the church with Dr. Dale Wicker officiating. Interment will be at 3:00PM at Bethel Cemetery in Glenwood, Arkansas under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the nonprofit charity of your choice.
So sorry for your loss.
We send our heartfelt sympathy to your family during this sad time for your loss. May God give you the strength needed to cope daily (Ps.34:18). Jason touched the lives of others and will always be remembered and not forgotten.
The service was beautiful! Judge Baker, I am truly sorry for your loss! My heart ached for you as soon as i heard the news. After being at the service, I got to see what kind of son Jason was to you. Also, all of the friends, family, co-workers (extended family) you have by your side, and knew that you would have plenty of love and support throughout this difficult time. I wish you and your family peace and comfort.
All My Respect,

Dear Jim and Family:
It is with deep sorrow that Lynette and I learned of the passing of Jason. We do not know what to say but we offer the following poem that has brought us a bit of comfort in similar times. Please know that if you need us, we will do our best to be there.
Rick and Lynette Cartwright
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die

Jason, I enjoyed our many late night conversations about life and politics and everything else for the past fifteen years.
When I returned home from congressional staff for Asa, you still loved and accepted me because that was in your heart. You always knew I was a closet case moderate.
All should know the role and unmeasurable effects you contributed in service to our community, our great nation and ultimately humanity.
Love You My Friend,
Mark Foster

Jim and Linda, so sorry for your loss of Jason. We are in Texas and will miss the memorial service but want you and your family to know that we love you all and will be praying for you as you recover from such a heart breaking loss. We know this is a tough time for the family but we also know your faith in the Lord will sustain you as you recover. We love you.
My wife & I did not know Jason, but we regret the sorrow you feel – we too, have grieved the loss of sons in the past. No matter what the age of a child, his loss in not in the natural order of things. We can tell you that as time passes you will be able to remember more of the good times and dwell less on your loss. We found that each person grieves in a different way and at different times, so we encourage each of you to allow for those differences in your families.
We are also of the Christian faith and as we dealt with our pain we came to understand that God is still sovereign even when we don’t understand the tragedy. May you find comfort as you walk through this “valley of the shadow of death” and may friends share their good memories of Jason with you.
Jim, So sad to hear of your loss. He was such an active and successful young man. My condolences

Jason Baker. Gosh, where to even start with all the love, laughs, and tears we shared over the last 14 years. Baker will always hold a huge piece of my heart. I will miss the random phone calls where we sarcastically picked apart all the drama and hardship in our lives, and then washed it all way with a vodka sprite. Love you always, my friend.
