April 6, 1905 - July 28, 2017

Jessie Baxter Ray, age 94, passed away July 28, 2017. She was born in Flintville, Tennessee in 1923.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Sam, of 67 years, her father and mother, John and Bessie Baxter, and two brothers, James and Charles Baxter.

Jessie left behind two loving daughters and husbands, April Esner (Ed) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Patti Fulcher (Ronald) of Sugar Land, Texas; four grandchildren, April Glincher, Bryan Esner (Meredith), Ryan Esner, and Julie Esner; and seven great grandchildren.

She graduated from Hampshire High School and received a Teachers degree from Middle Tennessee State Teachers College in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She taught in Tennessee for two years, and did substitute teaching after moving to Arkansas.

Jessie loved her family dearly and was a great lover of nature. She enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, fishing, and travel.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton and a member of the Deborah Sunday School Class, and a member of the Morning Glories Choir.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home with a private interment.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (501)315-4047

Sweet lady. I would talk to her when ever I saw her at Mt Carmel where my in laws were. I know she'll be missed by many.
