Barry Con Grimes, 50, of Guy, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born May 23, 1967 in Conway to Larry and Ann Battles Grimes. Barry was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Darby Grimes.

He enjoyed scuba diving, riding atvs, camping, boating, and vehicle restoration. Most of all Barry loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband and father who was very dedicated to his family. Barry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

My heart hurts for the passing of my dear cousin Barry. My thoughts and prayers are with aunt Ann, Amanda, Susan, Olivia and ALL the many friends and family!!!! We talked in March about his upcoming Stem Cell Transplant and he was really upbeat and said prognosis was good. He was looking forward to lake season and had questions about my upcoming shoulder surgery!!! Always caring for others and never seemed sad -- I am miles away but the Grimes family has always been near and dear to my heart! Many prayers for comfort to all. As we all know, Barry is in a better place fulfilling the plan that God has for him. Much love ❤️

Had some great 5th and 6th grade memories of Barry. Riding my bicycle to Guy and going by his parents house. We played for awhile then Barry would go in and watch the Duke's of Hazzard. As for our adult life, talked to him three or four times. His attitude, to me, was still the same as it was when we were kids. Going to miss Barry, who talked about working on his fixer upper.

I have so many fond memories of our childhood - riding 3 wheelers, tracking rabbits in the snow, fishing, tractor pulls and farm shows. Home-made donuts and the Dukes of Hazzard at Jerry and Margaret's. Sneaking dried peaches off the cellar at Miss Vallie's. I'm pretty sure I was the one who taught Barry to tie his shoes. I wish I was talking to you about these things instead of writing them here. But I have to lean on the faith that was instilled in our lives when we were young and innocent. A faith that gives me assurance that this was the way The Great Physician saw fit to heal you completely. To call you Home and into His presence. Save me a seat at the cool kid's table - I'll be along directly. I love you, Barry Con.
