of Batesville, AR
April 30, 1971 - July 14, 2017
James ''Alex'' Shaw, 46, of Batesville, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017.
He was born on April 30, 1971, in Batesville to James Owen Shaw and Anna Faye (Swaim) Shaw.
Alex never moved from the house he grew up in, living the life that he loved. Building a ranch, he was running cattle, equipment, farming, and improving the land that he bought over the years. He loved working with metal and fabricating anything he saw. Alex could look at it one time, go home and make it. He was gifted and talented in all areas of his life. Unbeknownst to Alex, he even became a ''world traveler''.
Alex has been a true blessing to all he knew and met, friend or foe. He became everyone's friend, given enough time. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. No matter what, when, where or whom asked, he was there.
He is survived by his father and mother, James Owen and Anna Faye Shaw; his older sister, Andrea Michelle Talley; daughter, Payton Jo Shaw; and wife, Kari Redland Shaw, all of Batesville; cousins, Juanice Carr, Shane Swaim, David Jones, Kelsey Seaton, Brent Swaim, Jodi Eason and Jason Jones; and multiple second cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Owen Shaw Sr. and Tamar Shaw as well as Ernest ''Jack'' and Anna Lee Swaim; and cousin, Brandon Kimmer.
Pallbearers will be Jody Page, Ricky Wilson, Ryan Hill, Bryan Kimmer, Justin McCarson and Greg Mosier.
Honorary pallbearers are David Jones, Shane Swaim, Jason Jones, Andy Konkler, Matt McGee and Chris Huckabee.
There will be a graveside service at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Barnes Cemetery in Bethesda officiated by Bro. Leonard Tharp.
Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2017 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Barnes Cemetery Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 2156, Batesville, AR 72503 and Arkansas Hospice, 2233 Harrison Street, Batesville, AR 72503
