of Mountain View, AR
August 7, 1925 - July 12, 2017
Mary Jean Branch of Mountain View entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2017. Services are scheduled for July 17th at the First Methodist Church with visitation at 10:30 and memorial at 11am with Rev. Paul Coy. Mary was retired from Addison Michigan High School where she served as administrative secretary. She was a founding member of the Stone County Hospital Auxiliary and had also served in hospital auxiliary in FL for many years. She had a servant's heart and served at the local food room and the chamber of commerce as well as to help anyone who needed help. She was a Christian of the Methodist faith.
She was an animal lover with intense love for all 4 legged creatures. Many of her animals were abandoned ones that she and Robert adopted.
Mary was an accomplished craftsman with skills in many kinds of needlework. She made and donated stuffed bears to SCMC ER into her nineties for sick children.
Mary was preceded by her husband of 67 years, Robert and her parents, Jack and Marjorie Hunter of Vanderplog Lake, MI and the many fur babies that were waiting for her at "the rainbow bridge". She is survived by many friends including Jeannette Richards, Leona Thornton, Debbie McClung, Hanna Dyke and all the SCMC Auxiliary members. Mary will join Robert at the Birdeye Veteran Cemetery near Wynn, AR.
Memorials may be made to the Stone County Humane Society or to the Local Methodist Church.
The best Emergency Department Volunteer ever. We were lucky to have her at SCMC. Her fur babies will miss her but she will have so many more where she is at now. Her and Robert are happy again. Mary, you will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Reading Rev. 21:3, 4 and John 5:25 have always brought me comfort, and hopefully will do the same for you.
Mary was such a sweet and kind soul. I will miss her so very much. It saddens my heart that she is gone, but I'm saved, so I take comfort in knowing that I will see her again one day.
