Mr. Ezra Zechariah Metz, of Jonesboro, died Monday, June 26, 2017, at NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born September 8, 1925, at London, Arkansas, to John C. and Mae (Harvey) Metz.

He was a member of the Refuge Assembly of God Church, and had served in the military. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts, fishing, his church and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda Faye (Moore) Metz; five brothers, Elmer Metz, Jay Metz, Earl Metz, Daniel Metz, and Joe Metz; and one sister, Dolly Moore.

He is survived by two sons, Gary (Patty) Metz and Mark Metz; one daughter, Sherry (Bill) Womack; three brothers, Samuel Metz of California, James Metz of Southaven, Mississippi, and Lloyd Metz of Pine Bluff; one sister, Ethel Skelton of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Womack, Erica (Matt) Smith, Amanda (Micheal) Stewart, and Amber (Kevin) Richardson; and seven great-grandchildren, Cade, Collin, Brianna, Sawyer, Kate, Carly, and Cole.

There will be a visitation Tuesday, June 27, 6:00-8:00pm, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington, Jonesboro.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00am, Wednesday, June 28, at Jonesboro Memorial Park, Harrisburg Road, Jonesboro, with Matt Smith officiating. Friends and family will visit at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home from 10:00am until time of service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Metz's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Reading Rev. 21:3, 4 and John 5:25 have always brought me comfort, and hopefully will do the same for you.
