Melica Ann Sanders

of Hardy, AR

November 13, 1948 - May 25, 2017

Melica Ann Sanders, age 68 of Hardy, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 13, 1948 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Scott Hunter and Rheba Faye Gray Womack.
Melica was of the Baptist faith and loved her Lord. She married Richard Sanders October 10, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She started her working career at the Marked Tree Evening Times and retired from the FBI in 2008 where she was an evidence technician for more than 20 years. Prior to moving to Hardy in 2011, she and Richard lived in Bartlett, Tennessee. Her favorite pastime was riding with Richard on the back of his Harley covering 26 states, including Hawaii. Her grandchildren were her love; she enjoyed caring for them, playing with them and just being their Nana. She also enjoyed water skiing, camping, deer hunting and just being outdoors.
She is survived by her husband Richard Sanders III, son and daughter-in-law Larry Scott and Heather Goodwin of West Memphis, Arkansas, two step-sons: Richard Sanders IV of Memphis and Chris Sanders of Memphis; eight grandchildren: Reese, Ryder, Roston, Richard V, Michael, Justin, Adam and Chandler.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gary Womack.

My sincere condolences to the family.

Melica and I graduated together from Marked Tree High. Although I hadn't much contact with her in many years, I remember her as always having a kind heart and word for everyone.

God Bless

Melica was one of my favorite cousins. We didn't get to see each other often because I always lived in Virginia, We wrote letters as youngsters then had phone calls as we got older. She was always happy, it seemed and we always had fun when we were together.

She was a beautiful lady and had a heart of gold. She always tried to say something good about everybody. I will miss her laugh and phone calls.

There is a new angel tonight and a bright new light in Heaven.

Melica was a kind, lovely, and courageous lady. I enjoyed working with her and will always think of her fondly. I will not be able to attend the service but will be thinking of her and her family.
With deepest sympathy,
