I was so saddened to hear of Alan's passing. He was one of the truly good guys. He was my friend, years ago, when not many others were. At one particularly hard time in my life, he talked his father into hiring me ....he did and I 'picked rags' for the Yard! Kept me going until I could get back to college! His greatest pleasure in life was his love for Teena and the children.

You will be missed, my friend. God hold you and keep you close.

I am going to miss you terribly my friend... you made my life richer for having known you.. your guidance early on in my life kept me strong and determined... our renewed friendship this past year helped me through some difficult and challenging days.. whenever I needed you most you were there for me.. as you were for hundreds of others that were blessed to call you friend... other than that little snake incident... hmm.. I guess its okay to tell it now.. so... I had my first real job working for Moma Agee.. Alan comes in and puts a rubber snake in the coke box and then sends me to get his usual bottle coke after a hot day working with his dad.. I learned to fly that day as did many other customers subjected to high pitch and very loud screaming... I am just happy that there was a swinging door to the kitchen or you would have had to pay dearly for that.. Alan was the only one laughing at the time but over the years when I look back on it and that's usually after a nightmare about snakes... I laugh too.. God be with you Teena and family as you face these difficult times... in conversation Alan told me he was crazy about that woman! And what a blessed life he has had.. he never wanted for more.. his words, not mine.. I also learned last year that his son married my little cousin and that just made our friendship more precious! To know that we have little ones in common made my heart so happy! You are all in my thoughts and prayers <3
