September 26, 1930 - April 22, 2017
Bessie Belle Antonio passed away on April 22, 2017. She was born on September 26, 1930 to Warren and Tillie Belle Henry on the Pemberton Plantation near Keo, Arkansas. She was the youngest of eight children.
She graduated from Scott High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. Afterward she moved to Little Rock to work. She met 2 of her lifelong friends, Margaret and Bernadine, while there. She also met her husband, George ''Tony'' Antonio and they were married on August 1, 1952. Tony was a medic in the army. They were stationed at Tinker Air Force base in Oklahoma City when their first son David was born. Soon after they moved to France for 3 years. When they returned to Little Rock their second son Steven was born. They later returned to France and Germany before retiring in North Little Rock. They enjoyed spending time with family at cookouts, and reunions. Bessie enjoyed music, dancing and playing games. She was always the best dressed person anywhere she went. She was proud of her children and her grandson and took joy in giving to them. Bessie was saved and baptized in 1973 with her family at Calvary Baptist in North Little Rock.
Bessie is survived by her son David Antonio and his wife Kathy and her grandson Jonathan Antonio, all of Conway, Arkansas and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years ''Tony'', her son Steven, her parents and all of her brothers and sisters.
Thank you to her caregiver Tonya Fuller, and also everyone from Carti NLR, and Arkansas Hospice. Memorials can be made to Carti or Arkansas Hospice.
