E W Woodward, 78, of Batesville died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born November 1, 1938, in Tuckerman, Arkansas, he was the son of Ed Woodward and Goldie Woodward.
E W was a mechanic and was co-owner and operated Woodward's Kerr McGee until his retirement. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, taking pictures of wildlife and watching western movies. He was a member of the NRA and the Square Dancing Association. E W was a member of the North Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joyce Ann (Alexander) Woodward, of Batesville; son, Erik Woodward and his wife, Victoria, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas; daughter, Tammy Bell and her husband, Wayne, of Decatur, Alabama; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Woodward and his wife, Donice, of Desha, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Woodward, Johnny Woodward, Roy Woodward, Eddie Woodward, and an infant brother.
There will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2017, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home Chapel with James Wheeler officiating. Music will be provided by Gary Hodge.
Interment will be in Alderbrook Cemetery at Desha under the direction or Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Sergeant Rick Davis, Chief Jeff Sims, State Trooper Michael Woodward, Jeremy Woodward, Chuck Woodward, Jim Miller, Mike Parr and Tracy Wallis.
Honorary pallbearers are the Batesville Police Department, Independence County Sheriff's Department, Dr. ''C'' Witold P. Czerwinski, Robert Nartineaw, and the Senior Haven Staff.
Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, prior to the service.
Joyce, I'm so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. He always had such a big smile for everyone. He will be missed.
