I worked with Miss Barbara for several years at WRMC and I was fortunate enough to see her recently at the hospital. She always greeted me with a beautiful smile and a hug. I don't think I ever saw her when she wasn't smiling and brightening someone's day. She was such a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her and to be her patient. I will never forget her and will miss her smiling face. My prayers are with all of her family.

What a tremendous women and lady you were Barbara Jean Lewis. What a tremendous legacy of nursing and kindness, and joy you gave to everyone you meet. No matter what the situation you handled it with pride, joy and experience like no other. You always make everyone feel comfortable and at ease and gave them the best care ever, even if they were'nt a patience of yours you always jumped in their and gave 100 percent of your self in taking care of the patience. She was the same way with her family. She always gave 110 percent of her time and care for her family. She loved her family so much and always talked about all of them and how much she loved and cared for them. Gereld I know you will miss her so much but she is the watching down to welcome you home to heaven some day soon. To Debbie, and Sherri, we enjoyed talking about you all and your kids and how much she loved all of you and your kids. She always shared awesome memories of all of you and what a joy you had been to her over the years since her and Gereld never had any children. You became her children and I know she was as proud of you all as much as she was of her own had she had them. My heart goes out to you all and know that is will always be there watching over you and looking down over you. Mom said to tell you she is thinking about you all. She and Barbara were like sisters and no only good friends outside of the hospital but spend 40 plus years side by side as nurses and friends. Mom and us kids will never forget the fun times growing up around Barbara in the hospital and out. God Bless you all and we are here if you need us for anything. Go rest high my sweet friend. Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that save a wretch like me I once was lost but now Im found was blind but now I see. My chains are gone Ive been set free my god my savior has randsomed me and like a bird in prison breeze, unending love amazing grace. God Bless and my love and hope and strength to you all in the days and weeks to come. Love you forever. Kathy Carey, Flora Carey, Mark Carey, Kim Carey White.

I am in shock and disbelief that she is really gone.....I loved her so much, I was the oldest in my family so I never had a big sister, but I always felt like God sent me 3, Bob, Betty and Mary.....thank you Bob for all of your love and kindness shown to everyone who knew you.....you always made people feel good when they were around you with your smile and your sense of humor and genuine love for people.... Every time we got together we could talk for hours and it just seemed like a moment..I cherish that the last thing you told me was "I love you, Squirt! ...thanks for being one of my "big sisters", I will miss you, give our loved ones in heaven hugs for me, I know there is a joyful reunion up there today....
