Josephine Violet Ruth Haddock

of Big Flat, AR

January 19, 1929 - April 8, 2017

Josephine Violet Ruth Haddock, age 88 of Big Flat, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on January 19th, 1929 to Lester Hattenhauer and Edna Adams Hattenhauer.

Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the mother of eleven children as well many other children who passed through her home and lovingly called her ''mother'' also. In 1964, after the death of her husband, Josephine began the arduous task of raising her children by herself. She did an outstanding job of raising and caring for them. They never went without eating (Josephine was the best cook ever), and they never had to go without shoes or clothes. They were always clean and neat. Her love and sacrifice will always be remembered and appreciated by those who call her mother.

Survivors include her children, Alice Haddock, Roy Dale Haddock, Tommy Haddock, Coy Lee Haddock Jr., Carolyn Watts, Rudy Haddock, Carl Hoddock, Judy Johnston and Betty Hafner; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and siblings, James, Bill, Roy Lee, Fred, Lesta May and Annie.

Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Coy Lee Haddock; two sons, Donald Howard Haddock and David Paul Haddock; three grandchildren, Brent Hafner, Stacy Haddock and Rodney Haddock; four great-grandchildren, Kimberly McCoy, Brandy Honeycutt, Blaine Richie and Angel Syann; one sister, Glenda Faye Hattenhauer; and two brothers, Jack Hattenhauer and Bobby Hattenhauer.

Arrangements by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. Services for Josephine will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 at Round Mountain Church in Big Flat, Arkansas with Bro. Carl Mize and Bro. Bill Hattenhauer officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Monday, April 10th, 2017, also at Round Mountain Church in Big Flat. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery near Harriet. Pallbearers will be Randy Haddock, Chris Hafner, Daniel Watts, Bobby Watts, Curt McClanahan and Casey McClanahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Coy Lee Haddock Jr., Carl Haddock, Rudy Haddock, Tommy Haddock and Roy Dale Haddock.
