Jimmie Carroll Wallis, age 77 of Gassville, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Jimmie had battled a lengthy diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma. He was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on February 15th, 1940 to Noah Wallis and Maude Martin Wallis. He was the youngest of 10 children. Jimmie married his soul mate, Betty Campbell on June 11th, 1965.
Jimmie graduated from Marshall High School in 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life as a brick and block mason and concrete finisher. He was a talented man and loved to build. Jimmie professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and was saved and baptized at Landis, Arkansas. His biggest passion was to lead people to Christ. Jimmie came from a strong Christian family and those same values rolled into his everyday life. He was an ordained minister of the Missionary Baptist faith. He loved to share stories and preach the word of Christ. He served as pastor until his health would no longer let him. Jimmie was a kind, gentle soul. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even when chemo and sickness got the best of him, he always made time for his family. He would use every ounce of his energy talking to them with a smile and kind words.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Lou Campbell Wallis; daughter, Sonya Wallis Washington and husband James Washington of Clinton, Arkansas; son, Tony Wallis and wife Gena Pemberton Wallis of Gassville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Ryan (Kayla) McGoveran of Clinton, Andrea (Brian) Rose of Marshall, Corey Wallis of Gassville, Jordan Wallis and fiancé Doug Banasiak of Mountain Home and Jeremiah Washington of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Keeley, Keahton, Joshua, Ashlyn and Jordan; brothers, Wyeth Lee Wallis of Vilonia, Larry Douglas (Carol) Wallis of Alexander and Joe (Evelyn) Wallis of Champagne, IL; sisters, Daphne Richardson of Gideon, MO, Susie Horton of Marshall and Mary Rose Acre of Little Rock; and many other family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Blake Wallis and Dorsey Wallis; and sister, Jackie Harness.
Funeral services for Jimmie will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Junior Avey, Bro. David Wallis and Bro. Noel Moore officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Friday, April 7th, 2017 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Steve Richardson, Mike Richardson, Billy Wallis, Danny Wallis, David Wallis, Ronny Foster, Scott Wallis, Wade Wallis, Rod Horton, Tommy Wallis and Joey Wallis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Wallis, Connie Campbell and Donnie Holliman.

I am so sorry for your loss . We really lost a good man and a very excellent preacher. Bro. Jim will certainly be missed by a lot of people who knew and loved him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this time of sorrow but Bro. Jim has fought a long and hard battle and he doesn't have to do that anymore.
