Mrs. Monterie Browning, 87, of Benton died Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was born August 19, 1929 in Cave City, Arkansas to the late Walter Noel and Ora Mae Satterwhite. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Waddell Browning, one sister Emmaleen Satterwhite Burge; two brothers Carl Wayne Satterwhite and Lewis Dean Satterwhite.
Survivors include two sons, C.W. Browning (Marvon) and James Browning both of Benton; one daughter Diana Rankin (Greg) also of Benton; four brothers, Lavaughn Satterwhite (Pat), Conway Satterwhite (Francis), Ellis Satterwhite (Barbara), and Vernon Satterwhite (Susie); one brother-in-law Justin Burge; two sisters Joyce Stovall (Don) and Nola Neal (Charles), and numerous nieces, nephews, and family.
Monterie was a member of Congo United Methodist Church and Congo Hill Eastern Star. She loved the Lord, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was cooking and spending time outside in her garden and flowers. She especially enjoyed her hummingbirds. She was a special lady who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Rev. Polly Burton and Bro. Justin Burge officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Serving as pallbearers are Greg Rankin, Noel Burge, Bryan Satterwhite, Dewayne Satterwhite. David Satterwhite. Tommy Satterwhite, Mickey Satterwhite, Keith Satterwhite.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, April 7th at the funeral home.
Christy and I are sorry to have learned of the passing of C.W.'s and James' mom. Our condolences, sympathies and hearts go to the whole family.
