Linda Lee Moore

of Redfield, AR

July 28, 1947 - March 27, 2017

Linda Lee (Cope) Moore, RN, was born July 28, 1947 in England, AR to George M. Cope Jr. and Mildred Castera Cope, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from England High School in 1965, and from the Baptist School of Nursing in 1968. She was very proud of her profession.

Linda was a registered nurse for 40 years and spent 31 years at Baptist Medical Center caring for mother and babies. During that time she not only saved lives, but also gave thousands of babies the best start in life they could have. She mentored and influenced countless other new nurses. She was a healer and a giver, and she touched the lives of so many people.

She married David Moore on March 29, 1968 at the chapel in the Student Union of the Baptist School of Nursing. During their 49 years of marriage, they worked hard, raised a family, and indulged in their love of traveling the United States and enjoying their time together.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, George M. Cope III. She leaves behind her husband, David; three daughters: Holly Terry (David) of Bryant, Heather Rogers (Jason) of Pine Bluff, and Hillary Moore-Brown of Redfield. She is also survived by two sisters: Sharon Shultz (Scott) of Bryant and Cathy Leon of Bryant, five grandchildren: M'Kenna Anderson (Kekoa) of Benton, Josh Terry (Lori) of Haskell, Jacob and Clay Rogers of Pine Bluff, and Dylan Brown of Redfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her caring spirit, witty humor, and spunky personality. She may be gone, but her memory still lives in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CARTI and Baptist Medical Center ICU for their professional demeanor and tender care of this amazing woman.

The only service will be a visitation at Roller Drummond on Friday, March 31, 2017 between 5-8 p.m.

I am so thankful to have been blessed with knowing you Linda. You were the epitome of what I thought a nurse to be. You took me under your wing when I was a new grad stepping out into the working world, guarded me, guided me and taught me. A kind and caring soul, we have laughed and cried together. My life would not be the same had our paths not crossed. Heaven just got a little brighter. I will always remember you, and the example that you set before me. Thank you, you were a wonderful lady and friend.

I just loved you so much! You taught me so much. I was new to Baptist on the mother baby floor working nights, nervous. I felt so good to see your smiling face in charge that first night I worked on that floor I knew you from living near by as a kid but didn't know you would be my guide in my career. I thank you and my heart aches for you girls and you too Mr. Moore. She will be missed so much. She meant so much to me. Love hugs and Prayers

Aunt Linda was so special to me, and to our whole family. She had a knack for always knowing what to say, and how to say, no matter the situation. She had the ability to comfort you when you were upset, irrational, or worried, no matter her own conditions in life. She was witty, and loved to tease us, and had a laugh that was undeniably her's. There's no way you didn't know her voice and her laugh.

Aunt Linda loved her family so, so fiercely. She defended them, she honored them, she prayed for them, and she treasured them. She raised three amazing daughters--my cousins--and so deeply loved her husband, Uncle David, and her grandchildren. I have always admired how close she kept her family to her heart, and have always felt privileged to be part of her family.

I will deeply miss my yearly Cracker Barrel Christmas ornaments, her holiday green Jell-O, and her ability to put everyone around her at ease. I pray she is now at ease, and at peace, with our God, whom she so deeply believed in and loved.

She has left a lasting legacy, and will be so greatly missed.
