Jerry F. Johnson, age 84, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at his residence.
He was born September 7, 1932, in Moline, Illinois, to Harry C. and Jane A. Young Johnson. On May 23, 1959 he married Cynthia Provenzano in Brookfield, Illinois. He moved to Bull Shoals in February, 1998 from Naperville, Illinois. He was retired from Western Electric/AT&T. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, a lifetime member of Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post in Bull Shoals, a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Yellville and had sung in the Adult Choir of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home for 12 years. Mr. Johnson had sung in the choir of St. Margaret Mary Church, Naperville, Illinois and the West Suburban Barbershop Chorus in Hinsdale, Illinois. He was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed golf, and was known for his sparkling blue eyes and smile.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia ''Cindy'' Johnson: of the home; two sons: Joseph (Beth) Johnson: Big Rock, Illinois and Rick (Heather) Johnson: Parkville, Maryland; two brothers: Richard (Tammy) Johnson: Tucson, Arizona and Robert (Pam) Johnson: Crystal Lake, Illinois; three grandchildren: Caitlin, Faith and Grant Johnson; a sister-in-law: Ruth Johnson: Davenport, Iowa; a brother-in-law: Chris Schnepple: Silvis, Illinois; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Nancy Schnepple and one brother: Ron Johnson.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M. with Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Twin Lakes Funeral Home in Bull Shoals with Reverend John Lewandowski officiating. Interment will follow in Baxter Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to ''Have a Heart Animal Shelter'' in Flippin, Arkansas
