Harold Harding Sweet

of Maumelle, AR

April 8, 1939 - March 20, 2017

My loving husband, Harold Harding Sweet, passed from my loving arms to God's hands on March 20, 2017. He was born in Council Hill, Oklahoma on April 8, 1939 to the late Clarence and Nell Sweet. We moved to Maumelle when it was just a small community, making it our home.

He attended Batesville High School and Arkansas State University. He served in the US Navy during the Bay of Pigs Invasion and early Vietnam conflict. He retired from Riviana Foods in 1995 where he was the regional project manager. He loved being on the lake fishing, up at dawn and home at dusk. He was a wonderful husband and father. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Polly Sweet; one daughter, Sandy Sweet of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Robert and Ronny Sweet, both of Batesville, Arkansas.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Arkansas arranged by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211, (501) 224-8300.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.

I feel so very sorry for your loss. Death is a very painful enemy. But God gives us hope. May you be soothe, and gain inner peace from the promises of God. Revelation 21:4 and Acts 24:15

We would like to send our love and condolences to Polly and family of Harold.
We have been fortunate to be neighbors of the Sweets for over twenty years. Harold and Jim got to be best buddies in their mutual love of fishing. They spent a lot of time on the lakes and rivers
Jim said he has learned more from Harold then anyone else .Harold was always there to lend a hand a kind word and a great smile!
He will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.
