Tressie Inez (Barksdale) Coots, 99, of Batesville died Monday, March 6, 2017.
She was born on August 25, 1917 in Guion, Arkansas to Matthew Barksdale and Ethel (Walker) Barksdale.
Tressie is survived by her four sons, Gary Coots (wife, Suzanne) of Batesville, Ronnie Coots (wife, Connie) of Batesville, Dick Coots (wife, Sue) of Floral, and Jerry Coots (wife, Nora) of Cave City; daughter, Joan Hunter (husband, Geno) of Bryant; one brother, Vance Barksdale of Paris, Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Isaac Jackson; two daughters, Peggy Jean Gould and Sandi Ilene Holder; son, Isaac Jackson Coots Jr. (Jack); and three brothers, Lynn Barksdale, Leroy Barksdale and Doyle Walker.
Pallbearers will be John Coots, Tim Coots, Mark Coots, Ike Coots, Korey Hunter and Rick Gould. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Passmore, Chip Passmore, Tammy Passmore, Bobby Bristow, Dr. Barnes, Dr. Allen, Sheila DeVan, Carla Wilson, Dianna Marshall, Amy Coots, Kynsey Hunter, Jennifer Scarbrough, Carrie Coots, and Logan Davis.
The funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Floral Baptist Church officiated by Joe Jackson and reading the obituary will be Mike Fowler. Burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Floral following the service.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.

My Heartfelt condolences to my daughter-in-law, Joan and to the rest of Tressie's family. I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Tressie while I lived in AR for a few years after Kynsey & Korey were born. The moment I met her, I loved her. She was like a breath of loving, warm air. He kindness, gentleness, soft spoken manner drew me in like a magnet. I'm so happy to have had the opportunity and pleasure to know her. As I told Joan, she is now whole and functioning on all levels with love from those who have gone before her and from those she left behind, God Bless you Tressie, your job here is done, you can rest now that you are home.

Mr. and Mrs. Coots were my second parents growing up. I love them like my own parents. Sunday morning breakfasts were the best! I was hoping to see Mrs. Coots for her 100th birthday, but she will celebrate with Her Lord this year. Prayers for this family, who I felt a part of for so long. What wonderful memories I have of a very Christian, wholesome childhood. And lots of those memories were in the Coots home. God bless.
