Mrs. Hunnicutt taught me typing, shorthand, and was a great mentor at Mayflower High School. I graduated in 1969. I didn't see this until March 22. I wish to offer our condolences! As she did, I graduated from UCA with a B.S.E. in English. She was lovely and loved Hal and Joe.

Faye was my high school yearbook teacher. I was a co-editor of the yearbook in 1982, so I spent a lot of time with her. Faye's smile was contagious. I've had the privilege of seeing her frequently over the past several years because she was a close friend of my mother-in-law, Ella Reese. She was a precious lady and will be greatly missed.

Hal and family,

Faye ("Mrs. Hunni" as I called her in high school) was one of a kind. The last time I talked to her about a year or so ago, I told her that she was the best teacher I ever had. She made learning fun and was so good with her students. I remember being on the newspaper staff while at CHS and it wasn't hard to want to make her look good with every edition of the Wampus Cat paper we put out. Sometimes, she would have to kick us into gear so that we would meet deadlines, but she was always patient and kind in doing so. I will never forget you "Mrs. Hunni". Thank you for your many years of teaching and believing in your students. I am "honored" to be a pallbearer for your service tomorrow. Rest in Peace now. Your work here is done. Our prayers and deepest sympathy to all.

I think I can honestly say that I played more as a child in Faye's yard then I did my own. I loved going to her house because it always smelled of pipe tobacco and homemade bread. She was a grand lady. She taught me a lot about journalism and I was honored to yearbook editor under her supervision. I went to visit her not long ago and we laughed so hard we both were crying. She had an impact on my life....positive and I shall never forget it. I loved her.....and still do.
Faye.....I hope the bury you in the earrings you wore every single day I was in high school! I will miss you something fierce.

Faye was a wonderful, kind and knowledgeable lady. She called several times with words of encouragement when my husband, Paul, died in 2015. I am proud to have known her.

Reading about Ms Hunnicutt is
inspiring to me. An example of a well lived life. And now I can
understand where Hal got some of that great attitude and personality. My thoughts are with all the family.

It was very sad to learn about Memaw's passing. She was such a sweet lady and she loved all of her family. Just remember all of the good memories and know that she is in a better place now.
