Doyle Cates, 89, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on March 02, 2017 in Mountain View, Arkansas. Mr. Cates was born December 28, 1927 at Signal Hill, Arkansas to Roy and Lona (Sutton) Cates. Doyle was a member of School Avenue Church of Christ, served his country in the United States Army, and was a sawyer at local sawmills.
Doyle is survived by one son, David and wife Betty Cates; a daughter, Linda Archer and husband Dan of Mountain View, Arkansas; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lona (Sutton) Cates; loving wife, Maxine (Anderson) Cates; a son, Danny Cates; one great granddaughter Darci Looney; two brothers, Junis Cates and Norman Cates; and one sister, Grace Cates.
Pallbearers are Marty Archer, Mitch Archer, Corey Cates, Bradley Cates, Brad Cates, and Garrett Archer.
Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Jennings, Mike Brackett, and Harold Lancaster.
A visitation will be held Sunday March 05, 2017 at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas from 6 PM-8PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday March 06, 2017 at School Avenue Church of Christ in Mountain View, Arkansas at 2PM with Brother Frank Curtis and Brother Finis Brewer officiating. Interment will be at Signal Hill Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Roller Coffman Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
So sorry for your loss, My step-dad Dan White and Vauda Burns enjoyed Doyle's friendship for many years. Doyle and Dan always sit on back row on Sundays at School Avenue Church of Christ.
