Laura Nadine Byers 84, of Conway, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was born March 11, 1932 in Lufkin, Texas to Donald Franklin and Susan (Weeks) Lester.

Laura was foremost a loving wife and mother. She and her husband, a pastor and college professor, were dedicated to church and academic excellence throughout their lives. Laura loved her many elementary students and was an advocate for teaching young children to read. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with family, especially her granddaughters. She loved art and music and was an accomplished seamstress. She lovingly crocheted and knitted special pieces for each of her family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Weyman Byers they were married October 28, 1953 in Magnolia, Arkansas, two sons, Stephen Paul Byers and David Judson Byers, parents, Donald and Susan Lester, six brothers, and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Robert D. Byers of Willow Park, TX;, daughter, Susan Byers Harlow of McMinnville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Juli Byers Conley and Regan M. Harlow, great grandchild, Machea Miller, sister, Levelle Glenn (Martin) of Lufkin, TX; brother in law, James Redfield of Nacogdoches, TX, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Roller Mcnutt Funeral Home Conway, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be 10:30am Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Eastside Baptist Church with Brothers Jesse Thomas and Thom South officiating. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
