September 12, 1930 - January 28, 2017

Lester Robert Kelley died January 28, 2017 at age 86 in Mountain View, Arkansas. He was born to Melton and Dollie (Wallen) Kelley at Concord, Tennessee. He drove a truck for Tennessee-Carolina Transportation for 30 years. He and his wife, Bess, moved to Mountain View in 1981 from Chattanooga, Tennessee. They built their new home at Sunnyland where they lived till 2006. He and Bess began performing at the Ozark Folk Center in 1984 where they played dulcimers and later on with other groups. Lester played a banjo and sang.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alpha and Cleo Kelley and a brother, James Kelley and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bess (Hart) Kelley.

Visitation will take place at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas where he was a member. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 10:00 AM with Brother Jason Ingram officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunnyland Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Dickie Bishop, Henry Craig, Ron Younse, Richard Hempel, Eddie Cowell, and Joe Jewell.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Mountain View Senior Citizens Center.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Kelly,

My prayers and heartfelt condolences go to you and your family for the loss of Mr. Kelly. I will never forget those hugs he always had for me and that kindness with his glowing smile. We will always hold fond memories of his warmth and sincerity in his everyday activities. May God Bless you and travel beside you in this heartbreaking times or you life.

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Lester's demise. i know Mrs. Kelly will miss him, but she surely will cherish the memories. We yearn for the day when death will finally end (Revelation 21:4, Acts 24:15).
