Julia "Judy" Ann LongI am a Veteran.

of North Little Rock, AR

July 31, 1952 - January 18, 2017

Mrs. Julia ''Judy'' Long (nee Miller) died peacefully in Little Rock on January 18 at the age of 64.

Julia is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bailey M. Long of North Little Rock; her daughters Jennifer Perry (husband, Greg) of North Little Rock and Rebecca Moody (husband, Clint) of Jacksonville, AR; mother-in-law, Vernie (Ruth) Long of Salado; brother-in-law, Terry Long (wife, Tammy) of Salado; two sisters-in-law, Vernie Erman (husband, Joe) of Austin and Kathy Reed (husband, Fred) of Little Rock; aunt and uncle, Katie and James Houston of Prestonsburg, Ky; three grandchildren, James Long, Mitchell Moody, and Abrielle Perry; as well as her beloved friend Emely McKinney of North Little Rock. She is preceded in death by her parents, Areminda Bailey and Leander Miller.

Julia was born on July 31, 1952 in Gallipolis, OH to Areminda and Leander. She grew up in Prestonburg, Ky and graduated from Prestonburg High School in 1970. She joined the Air Force in 1973, and after being stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base, she met the love of her life, Bailey Long, and they married in 1983. They welcomed their two daughters, and over the years Julia taught them to be strong, independent, and caring women. Julia retired from the USAF to North Little Rock in 1993, after stations in Greece and Germany. Her children remember her as a loving mother, who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Julia was accomplished at baking and made her famous cheesecake for all social events. She was a generous and witty individual who loved her family and friends. Julia was tough and caring, and always spoke her mind, whether you wanted to hear or not, and most of the time she was right. She never met a stranger, and would talk to just about anyone. She loved shopping, and was known to arrive unexpectedly with a surprise gift she'd just purchased for you. She loved her television shows and never missed an episode of ''Dancing with the Stars''. She loved animals, and bred toy poodles for several years, but loved them too much to sell them, so stopped with a herd of seven little dogs.

The funeral is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville with Josh Pippsher officiating. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
