Wilma Maxine Matlock, age 84 of Batesville, passed away Sunday morning, January 15, 2017 at Batesville Health, and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 16, 1932 in Batesville to Myra and Virgie Gill Hobbs and after the passing of Mr. Hobbs, Ms. Virgie married Mr. Dave Tucker who raised Wilma.
Nanny loved taking care of people in need which showed in her personal and professional life. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Arkansas and California finally retiring from Wood Lawn Nursing home after 17 years. She married Paul W. Matlock October 8, 1952 in Richmond, California and they enjoyed 64 years together. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Wilma is survived by her husband, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-laws: Debby and Lannie Hensley, Vicki and Mike Brumitt and Sheila and Glen Kerlin all of Batesville; grandchildren: Nicole Berendzen of South Carolina, Brooke Keathley of Maumelle, Arkansas, Kristi Clark of Batesville and Chelsea Havelka of Conway, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren: Scott and Carter Berendzen, Logan Clark, Weston and Adalyn Havelka and Cash and Ellis Keathley. She is also survived by her siblings: Maudie Dickey, Ima Johnson, Gary Tucker and Mack Tucker and her special companion Midget She was preceded in death by her parents and brother David Tucker.
Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Oak Lawn Cemetery with Jeremy Sullivan officiating.
Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm Tuesday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Aron Havelka, Jason Clark, Mitchell Keathley, Greg Johnson, Jerry Matheny, Stacey Wright, Joe Berendzen.
Honorary Pallbearers: Glen Blevins, Dr. Jordon Weaver, Aaron Herndon and Derrick Brashers

I worked with Wilma for several years at Wood-Lawn. I will always remember her as a special lady, caring, compassionate and fun loving. May God give you, her family, a sense of peace in your grief.
