Charley Hix, 88, of Batesville, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017.
He was born April 21, 1928, to the late Malcom ''Pete'' Hix Sr. and Elizabeth Hix.
Charley was a building contractor and cattle rancher. He served on the Sulphur Rock school board for 15 years and was a member of North Heights Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Hix; three sons, Steve Hix and wife, Carol, of Little Rock, Dennis Hix and wife, Betty, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Charley Hix Jr. and wife, Pam, of Batesville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Hardin, Courtney Martinez, Jordon Hix, Jonathan Hix, Brandon Hix, and Brittany Hix; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Malcom Hix Jr. of Batesville.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hix, Jordan Hix, Brandon Hix, John Anthony Ostie; David Hix, and Mickey Hix.
Honorary pallbearers are David Rounds, Greg Simpson, Dr. Robert Walton and the deacons and elders of North Heights Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017, at North Heights Church of Christ. Burial will be at Lee's Chapel Cemetery at Gainesboro following the service.

Steve, My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I have great memories of your father during our high school years. He was a very special man.
