Jimmy Glen Griffin, age 82 of Snowball, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, January 9th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Snowball, Arkansas on June 12th, 1934 to Bozine and Margaret (Bailey) Griffin.

Bro. Glen worked in the log woods as a young man. He also worked at Marshall Milling for a number of years where he came to know many farmers in the county. The majority of his working years were spent working for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department in Searcy, Faulkner and Boone Counties. Bro. Glen served in the Army National Guard for many years. He also was one of the founding members of the Snowball Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief for many years. He accepted the Lord as his Savior as a young man and surrendered to the ministry in 1969. He faithfully served the Lord as Pastor of the Snowball Baptist Church for 42 years until his health declined. He was a member of the Buffalo River Baptist Church. Bro. Glen loved serving his community. He was there for his friends and neighbors whether it was a time to celebrate, or a time to mourn. He was a friend to everyone he met. He also loved spending time out on the farm and in the garden. He and Mary Jo spent many happy hours camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed seeing God's hand in nature and taking time to look at the moon every night.

Bro. Glen is preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Renee Griffin, his parents, brother; Tilmon Griffin, sisters: Madge Griffin, Shirley Jean Griffin and 2 infant sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Jo. 2 Daughters: Jo Ann (Michael) Reddell and LaNette (Randy) Whiteside, all of Snowball, AR. 4 Grandchildren: Jake (Abbey) Whiteside of Russellville, Charlie (Tiffany) Whiteside of Harrison, Natalie Whiteside of Snowball, and Mary Reddell of Fayetteville, AR. 3 great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Joey and Caleb Whiteside of Harrison. Sister, Bernelle Arms and Sister-in-law Lavina Griffin of Snowball, AR. Brother- Clifton (Jannie) Griffin of Harrison, AR. And he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Bro. Glen will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12th, 2017 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. John T. Casey and Bro. Bill Beach officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in Silver Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Whiteside, Jake Whiteside, Johnny Horton, Joe Rea, Kay Horton, Brian Griffin, Bradley Griffin and Jim Whiteside. Honorary pallbearers will be Snowball 1st Responders, Sheriff Joey Pruitt, Dr. Bill Mears, Dr. Larry Jennings, staff of Boston Mtn. Rural Health in Marshall and all home health employees in Marshall and Harrison.
