Mrs. Evelyn M. Byrnes, age 100, of Lakeview, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Twin Lakes Therapy and Living Center in Flippin, Arkansas.
Mrs. Byrnes was born October 22, 1916, in Reading, Ohio, to Frank and Flava Dudley Weigand. On June 20, 1936, she married Ernest ''Buster'' Byrnes. She retired as a ward clerk at Elmhurst Hospital. In 1977, she moved to Lakeview from Franklin Park, Illinois, and was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sons: William A. (Arlene) Byrnes: Lakeview; and David C. (Ruth) Byrnes: Flippin; two daughters: Judith A. Zajac: Huntley, Illinois; and Mary Sue (Joe) Mlynski: Wood Dale, Illinois; three sisters: Edith Itrich: Bloomingdale, Illinois; Louise Schneeberger: Bartlett, Illinois; and Ila (Art) Webster: Florida; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from Noon-9:00 P.M. Friday, January 6, 2017 with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday in the Roller Chapel with Deacon Robert Crawford officiating. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Stan Swiderski as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
