Roy William Freeman, 94, of Melbourne, died Friday, December 23, 2016.

He was born in Culp, Arkansas on October 7, 1922 and was the son of Walter Burlay Freeman and Susan (Martin) Freeman.

He was a retired welder and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Roy served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include daughters, Jo Anne Zieske of Calico Rock and Cheryl Newsom and husband, Charlie, of Mountain Home; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Claude Freeman of Culp; and sisters, Marie Beavers of West Plains, Missouri, Mary Lou Yoder of Wellman, Iowa, and Ruth Franklin of Sherwood, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Freeman; an infant son, Kenneth Freeman; brothers, Troy Freeman, Royce Sea Wright; and sisters, Norma Quinn and Winona Smith.

There will not be any services.

We are sorry to hear about your loss we pray that in the days ahead you will be fortified. May these words provide you hope and comfort during this your time of sadness. 1 Corinthians 15:21,22, "For since death came through a man, resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive." Jesus said of himself that he was the resurrection and the life at John 11:25. May God sustain you all during this time as well.
