Opal Brooks Aldridge, 88, of Shirley was born March 24, 1928 to the late Lawrence E. and Elsie (Davis) Brooks and passed from this life on December 14, 2016 at Indian Rock Village in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Aldridge, one son, Rod Aldridge and one daughter, Deborah Aldridge.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Donna English and Diane Knighton, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Ms. Opal, Queen of Shirley, will be missed by all.
A memorial service in her honor will be announced and held at a later time.

Ms. Opal was a neat lady. I enjoyed having Christmas tea with her and Calla last year. She told us great stories about her family from years past. I am thankful I met her and got to know a bit of her heritage. She will be missed by her friends in Shirley. To her family, my thoughts are with you, sorry for your loss of this great lady.
