Loren ''Pop'' Johnson passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born October 11, 1930, in Wamego, Kansas, to Otto Hilton and Opal Eliza (Hamilton) Johnson.
At 17, Loren enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for 20 years in Korea, Japan, Africa and Iran, before retiring in 1968. He started his second career at Claridge Products from 1968 to 1993. He married Frances M. Graham March 12, 1953, and they celebrated their 63rd anniversary this year. Loren was an accomplished woodworker, avid fisherman, Razorbacks fan and volunteer for the NARMC Auxiliary.
Loren is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; his daughter, Lorrie, of Harrison; his brother-in-law, Ronald Graham, of Winston, Georgia; and his best buddy Bandit; and his extended family, Goldie Amdahl, Rick and Gloria Sparrow, Melanie Henry and Janet and Kevin Mills.
A Celebration of Life was Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Crossroads Community Church in Harrison, under the direction of Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
