Bobbie Jett Lackey

of Little Rock, AR

April 17, 1933 - November 18, 2016

Bobbie Jett (Tippit) Lackey was born April 17, 1933 to Rev. and Mrs. Charles Tippit in Center Point, Arkansas. She left this earth for her heavenly home on November 18, 2016, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a proud graduate of Nashville High School Class of 1951. In 1955, she met and married the love of her life, Kavanaugh Lackey.

Kavanaugh and Bobbie spent days together Loving God, Loving People and Loving Each Other. After Kavanaugh died she became a decorated volunteer serving over 8,000 hours and also served on the Auxiliary Board at Baptist Health Little Rock, where she spread joy and laughter to all she met. Her motto in life was, ''It doesn't cost anything to be kind.'' Bobbie was a faithful member of Oak Park Baptist Church in Little Rock.

She will be forever cherished by her children, Mark (Beverley) Lackey and Laura (Jim) Turner; her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Shane, Brittany, Evie and Elijah Katilius; Brian, Lindsay, and Tristan Katilius; Scott, Cassie, Kavanaugh and Maverick Lackey; Renee Lackey and Ashley Turner. And a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.

Celebration of her life will be Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Oak Park Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. Visitation will be at 10AM, service at 11AM and Internment at Forrest Hills following the service.

Mark and Laura. I was deeply saddened to hear of your mothers passing. She really was a very special lady. For that matter your mother and father were special people. I was 14 years old when I met your mother and I didn't know it at the time but she and your father set an example that I would look back on years later when I started my own family. Some people might think it wasn't much but for me it became a life lesson. When I was a kid I had great parents but even though they were professed christians I never really seen their faith in action. One day Mark and I were hanging out and your mother invited me for supper. As we sat down at the table Mr Lackey prayed over the meal ( WoW it wasn't even Thanksgiving LOL) Seriously that was the first time I witnessed a christian family practicing their faith. Your Mother was one of the sweetest ladies I ever knew. She always had a kind word for me. I rejoice in the fact that Mrs Lackey no longer lives by faith but now face to face with her Lord and savior. I will pray for the Lord to give you strength through this painful time. I love you both.
